After a short unwanted overnight stop in Kratie, we headed to our last destination in Cambodia, Mondulkiri province.

In Sen Monorom, the local capitol of Mondulkiri, the Elephant Valley Project tries to save formerly mistreated elephants and to raise the awareness of the public how vulnerable these majestic creatures are. One might think, that elephants can carry heavy weights on their back as they are huge animals but in fact that’s not true. Nonetheless their strength with which they can easily uproot a big tree, their spine is weaker than you think. Many elephants formerly used for tourism suffer from a blind eye which is a result of being hit with a stick by their mahout if they don’t move on…

But elephants are not the only thing to see in Mondulkiri. There are a lot of waterfalls to explore and the sunset is just beautiful…
