Laos is a lovely country and one month was way too short to see all of its beauty. Starting in the South at the Four Thousand Islands (Don Khon, Don Det) we headed further North to Pakse. From there we started a three day motorbike trip to and around the Bolaven Plateau. If you like waterfalls and coffee (plantations), you will love this place. They even build their own tiny water power plants up there. Our next stop was Kong Lo with its 7.5km long cave full of stalactites and stalagmites. After that it was time to enjoy life in Vang Vieng – known for tubing and crazy parties along side the river. To calm down and relax we chose Luang Prabang, a Unesco World Heritage city with a lot of Wats (and waterfalls in the surrounding area). Our last stop was Houay Xay to do The Gibbon Experience (sleeping 50m above the ground in a tree house and ziplining through the jungle with no other people around for miles).
